Perhaps most people have never experienced this, but it’s happened far too many times in my life now; nothing like waking up several hours past when you should have, alarm blaring the same 60 second music clip on repeat.

I had to take some *:.｡.:*::*artistic liberties*:.｡.:*:* with the color of my hair and clothing, but let it be known that I do own that wicked bomber jacket and minidress and I do rock the impossibly high teased side-ponytail because in here in Tokyo that’s seen as “fashionable” as opposed to “complete and utter madness.”

Also, there is a lot of Pokémon porn on the internet. It was very hard finding references that didn’t involve massive quasi-bestial dongs.

All of my warm-up sketches end up being Squall, despite the fact that I can never draw him in a consistent style. And his Freddie Mercury half-jacket always throws me off and makes me draw a Shoujo Manga Mega-Torso.

But still. Look how precious he is with his teenage angst. You know he’d be the type to smoke in a secluded area of Garden, legs spread and shirt askew in defiance.

I started poking around in the purgatory that is my folder of unfinished drawings when I came across a very old sketch that has been collecting dust in both my mind and my computer for possibly over a year now. I have a yucky habit of giving up when what my hands produce doesn’t match the image in my head; but as of now, my imagination is greater than my talent, and the only way to overcome that is to practice and improve… but how can you do that if you keep giving up? I almost did three or four times, but after many chocolates and cups of tea and stern what’s wrong with you you have to work if you want to get better-s it became something not half-bad!

So here it is, a very weird and rather experimental drawing depicting lyrics from “Peacock Skeleton with Crooked Feathers” by the Blood Brothers, a band my dear friend James loves.

Players were recently given Goobbue mounts (rideable monsters) which are massive, ridiculous, and have saggy old man boobies and butts. I do believe the developers are on the herb.

My first drawing of 2012! Let’s hope it’s the first of many. And it should be, because this is my year, which means it’s my year to work hard and improve like never before!

I am a 年女(“toshionna”) or woman [of the] year. In short, the zodiac animal from the time of my birth matches with the 2012 zodiac animal; the year of the dragon, the year of me!

coughcough Technically, Chinese calendars are lunar, which means my zodiac animal is actually the rabbit. But my fiancé and all other Japanese friends and family vehemently insist otherwise coughcough

This is also the last year where I will be able to wear furisode, the long-sleeved kimono in this doodle, because it will be my last full year as a “single” girl! So please forgive me if there is a massive influx of me-in-a-furisode doodles in 2012…

Two of my best friends from back home did a meme with me! My section is the center column. We chose not to show/tell each other what we were drawing until everything was finished and combined. I was squealing with delight when I finally saw it.

I wish I could have invested more time and effort into this to be on par with the quality in their panels, but such is life! Hopefully we will have many more opportunities to collaborate together again in the near future.

Oh hey, guys, I’m alive! Funny how time flies when you emigrate.

To celebrate my new-found free time, I sketched something for the first time in several weeks! Vivily, my character from FINAL FANTASY XIV, complete with that inaccurate anatomy that’s all the rage nowadays! HOW DOEZ ARMS WERK?!

…AAAAADVENTURE TIME!

I wanted to finish this before the premiere of the long-awaited gender swap episode, but it will be several more weeks until I am able to see it anyway; so please have a heart and don’t spoil anything for me! It’s a travesty that such a quirky, charming, algebraic show like this does not air here in Japan.
